Magdalen Hill studios combine a love of flowers and the natural world that surrounds us.
Founded in 2012 by Toni McGregor, Magdalen Hill soon became a leader in the Hawke’s Bay, designing and creating lush romantic wedding florals. In 2022 Sharni McGregor came into the Magdalen Hill business to take the fresh flowers to new heights.
Flowers emulate the fragile beauty of life. They remind us to nurture, always believe, appreciate the moment, take time to breathe, collect memories and to love with reckless abandon. They inspire, bring hope and transport us back. They are the language of love and the universal indication of a great celebration.
With an organic pull towards exquisite blooms, interesting textures, soft floaty petals, rambling foliage, berries, the muted tones of dried blooms and swaying seed heads of grasses we embrace nature’s sweet disorder to create floral magic.
Untamed beauty, we craft one-of-a-kind floral designs that are unique and individual.
For your wedding, home or office our florals have soul + a story to tell - Your Story…
Hello, I'm Sharni, a lover of all things floral.
Being surrounded by beautiful gardens growing up, my desire to be a florist started young. Playing hide and seek amongst the blooms, scent filled summers, making petal perfume - these early experiences were a strong influence in nurturing my love for the natural world.
Studying and becoming a qualified florist was really important to me. Having a broad technical knowledge, along with working in the UK, before joining Magdalen Hill in 2016 has given me a wide range of skills. Specializing in Wedding floristry and sharing my knowledge through teaching is a dream come true.
Many of us feel connected with nature and the beauty we find in this natural world. We are so lucky to live amongst it all and be able to touch and create with it. Inspired by texture and colour I love finding the beauty in even the strangest botanical has to offer and reinventing it in our forever growing and changing industry.
A real home body, you'll find me pottering and planting up a storm. Gardening is my addiction, where more is more is more… buying the next 'must have treasure' to add to my forever growing garden. It’s such a delight to put so much love into the smallest seedling, nurture and watch it grow and then be able to pick the blooms and incorporate them into our wedding designs.
Floristry for me, has become more than just creating for others. It's a love and passion that runs through many aspects of my life, especially in raising my little girl.
